Welcome to the first edition of #InspireMeMonday. One of the goals of my business is that everything we do inspires someone, somewhere. It’s the heart of what we do. Business, design, products – they are all empty without meaning. Bringing the blog back has been on my heart for a while, but I had no idea where to start. Sharing my thoughts, vision and dreams in front of hundreds of people is honestly terrifying. Being vulnerable isn’t easy. But one thing I have learned along this crazy journey is that major growth happens when we can become vulnerable. When we open ourselves up, lay down our plans and fully accept His will amazing things can happen. Now, the intent of #InspireMeMonday is not for me to preach to you because I by no means have it all figured out. My hope is that I can share things that I have learned along the way and together we can make big things happen.
I get a lot of questions about how this whole thing started, how we grew so fast, how we got where we are today. Honestly, I wish I had a magic formula. A road map that I could tell you to follow. But that’s not how life or business works. I’ve taken a lot of chances, stepped out on faith and risked our life savings to make this dream come to life. There have been a lot of successes along the way, but there have also been so many mistakes. I believe that we are all human. Sinners born to make mistakes. But in order to keep moving forward, we must learn from these mistakes. Use them to make you better. And don’t make the same mistake twice.
So, each #InspireMeMonday this month will be all about dreams. Everyone has them, right? Big, small, medium sized, crazy. They all look different and some may seem completely impossible. I am the queen of dreaming impossible things. I can’t tell you how many amazing ideas I have dreamed up in my head. But that’s the thing with dreams. If they stay in your head, a dream is all they will ever be. The key to bringing dreams to life is breaking this big idea down into small, possible, one day at a time kind of steps. Sometimes when you are looking at the big picture, it seems like you will never get there. And it’s so easy to get caught up in the feeling of failure because you are still so far away from where you want to be. So, starting today, let’s make our dreams more realistic by starting with one step at a time. It’s about taking the next step, not the perfect step. This week: take the next step. You can do it! That's right, I'm talking to you!
