Passion at Work

Hi friends,

I am so excited to be back on Inspire Me Monday talking about one of my favorite things: passion. You know those people that just light up when they are talking about something? Passion just pours out of their soul. These people make you want to drop everything and start chasing your dreams immediately.

For me, passion is one of the essential qualities that I look for when I am hiring. Why? Because it’s something that you can’t teach. You either have it or you don’t. Passion is an overflow of the heart. And I need my team to be whole-heartedly committed to what we are doing. I believe that what we are doing matters for eternity and I take that very seriously. We pour so much heart, soul, prayer and love into each product that we produce in hopes that it will plant a seed in the hearts of our customers. So, passion matters. Whether my girls are packing and shipping orders or creating artwork, their roles matter.

Because passion is an overflow of the heart, it spills out into every aspect of our lives. The way my girls love and serve each other stems from their level of passion for their job, for people, for helping others and for their Savior. Colossians 3:23 says “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Each woman on our team brings different gifts to the table. And it’s important to celebrate our differences and use our strengths to shine. I firmly believe that comparison is the thief of joy. I try to remind my girls all the time to be confident in who God made them to be and to use those gifts in a way that honors the Lord and each other.

Without passion, we can’t be united around the same goal. So, I am challenging you this week to think about how you can apply passion to what you are doing. Whether it’s with your family, your coworkers, at your job or with friends, be passionate about your relationships and the areas you are called to serve. It will make a huge difference!
