At the end of an incredibly busy day today, we took a field trip to our new home - the "office space." We gathered around on our hands and knees and wrote our favorite verses on the newly sanded concrete floors before they are painted. This gesture is important to me for many reasons. First and foremost, I want this business to be founded on His truth. Not mine, or Koral's or Allison's or Chandler's or Mary Leigh's. I want His Word to guide our every step, decision, relationship, collaboration and interaction. So quite literally, we are hiding God's Word in our hearts and under our feet. Secondly, it is always a good reminder to each of us that we are ultimately working for our Creator. The one that molded us, shaped us, gifted us unique talents. I wanted the girls to think about their favorite verses so that each time they walk in those doors, the words written under their feet will be a reminder to write His Word in their hearts.
Ephesians 3:20 has been a verse that I have clung to since the very beginning of Scarlet & Gold. I have such fond memories of talking about this verse with my friend Leslie Allen in the early days as we carefully folded tissue paper and tied beautiful bows on every box. We talked about how we believed deep in our souls that God could grow this business. That He can multiply our efforts. That our attention to detail mattered because we were doing it for Him. Those same principals are still carried throughout our business today - almost two years later. From the outside, we might look a lot different, but what we are about is still the same. We are doing work that matters. For eternity. And we don't take that lightly. So we pull and pack orders well. We design well. We create well. We treat each other well. Because every detail matters.
As we take this leap into a new home, I hope our foundation never changes. Each of us brings something different to the table and that is something to be celebrated. I hope every person that walks in our doors can see that this place of business is different because every one of us is the outshining radiance of His glory. Here are the verses that the girls wrote today. I hope they bless you as much as they blessed me.
