How strange, she must have thought. How strange for life and motherhood to come this way.
As the angel came and spoke to her of a baby she hadn’t conceived, a baby she couldn’t conceive of, I’m sure she sat wide-eyed. I’m sure she felt afraid and unsure, even as she said the bravest thing.
“I am the servant of the LORD,” Mary said. “Let this happen to me as you say.”
In life and art, Mary inspires a hands-open humility.
What would happen if we said yes to all the things God had for us? What would happen if we went forward into that work with purpose and bravery?
When you wear this necklace, remember Mary’s courage. Remember her willingness to step into the difficult places God had called her.
